On Monday, October 9th we had a professional development day for JBMA staff. Ms. Katherine Houston, a Gallup certified strength coach led the session and helped each one of us find our inner strengths. She further guided us as to how we can most efficiently utilize these strengths in the classroom.
At the end of the session, we all participated in a team contest.
Verdict? Upper Elementary and Middle school teachers’ team won the contest.

Next, students used a chart from Lost Worlds in Alabama Rocks, a college level text book., to generally date the rocks. Everyone loved touching ancient sea life, carboniferous fern trees, the stone nautilus, a dinosaur bone, and more. Ask your kids about the mammalian coprolite; it was a class favorite.
