Farewell to Coach Jordan

Our Physical Ed instructor, Coach Jordan, who is moving to Huntsville this summer with his family, has been a wonderful coach to our class and we'll miss him dearly.  Here's a small token of thanks for coach for him to cherish the wonderful time and memories at JBMA.

Final Week of School

It's hard to believe that we are already into the final week of this school year.  We are continuing to challenge ourselves this week with some project-based and practical life jobs.  Take a peak:

On Thursday, May 10th, we had an opportunity to visit "Hall of Plants" organized by Lower                Elementary students.  During this event, we got to learn interesting facts about various plants.

Test Taking Tips

Standardized Tests:
During the week of April 30th- May 4th, your child will be taking the Otis Lennon School Ability Test and the Stanford Achievement Test, Tenth Edition.
We use the results of these tests to build upon what your child already knows and encourage progress in areas that your child has not yet mastered.  Accordingly, we encourage students to do their best because only a true result will yield helpful information.

Test Taking Tips:
During the test week, students will not be given homework.  We will encourage them to read nightly for enjoyment.

As we discuss the testing procedures with the children in the classroom, we will reassure them about the test-taking experience.  Students will be encouraged to listen carefully to the directions and to ask their teacher to repeat or to explain again if there is any question about what to do.  Please help us keep this week as natural as possible.  Students who are calm and confident about the test-taking experience do better on this type of battery.

Please see that your child:
Receives plenty of sleep during the week
Eats a good breakfast each morning
Comes to school on time so that he/she will be relaxed when the testing begins
